Shooting has begun on the seventh season of British sci-fi show Doctor Who, the BBC confirmed this morning via a tweet from the official Doctor Who account. The shooting has started in Wales, with the finished season expected to air on BBC One sometime this Autumn. Following the announcement that lead characters Amy Pond and Rory Williams are set to leave the show, rumours began to spread that actress Sophia Myles was to take the role of the show’s newest companion, but such rumours have yet to be confirmed.
In little over a month, the first official Doctor Who Convention since the show’s 2005 reboot will also take place in Cardiff’s Millennium Centre.
