Valve have confirmed that the sequel to the award-winning intuitive first-person “shooter” Portal is being developed for PC and Xbox 360 for a Christmas release, but there’s been a suspicious lack of mention of a PS3 port. It’s worth noting that Valve have, time and time again, explained that they don’t want to pursue development for Sony’s platform at the current time for fears of making a poor quality port, and the first game was badly ported by publisher Electronic Arts, something Valve have promised won’t happen again.

At the moment, it’s still unclear whether Portal 2 will be receiving a retail release or whether it’ll be a shorter title á la the first game and offered as a downloadable; if it is indeed a shorter game, then Valve and EA should definitely consider releasing a compilation with Portal 2, Half-Life 2: Episode Three and Left 4 Dead for PS3.
