The PlayStation Network has been experiencing intermittent issues for the past few days, possibly as a result of denial of service attacks by hacktivist group Anonymous. Sony have stated that while they are “investigating the cause of the [outage] … it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running”.

At the current moment, no players at all are currently capable of playing PlayStation 3 games online, or accessing the online store functionality provided by Sony. The latest Twitter update came approximately four hours ago from @PlayStationEU and read as follows: “No new information to update you with I’m afraid. We’ll post here over the weekend with any developments.”
