Starz CEO Chris Albrecht has told Multichannel News that a fifth series of “Torchwood”, which became a joint production between BBC Wales and American company Starz as of last season, could still happen provided that creator Russell T. Davies finds the time to return as lead writer and producer.

“You know, Russell is so busy,” he told Multichannel in an interview. “Obviously, we’re in touch with the BBC all the time. They are our partners on DaVinci’s Demons and [Harem] … We told them, we stand by ready for any news, but I think it would be a while before Russell came back to Torchwood.”

Stars Eve Myles and John Barrowman have repeatedly stated they’d be happy to return to the show, but Russell T. Davies put his television work on hold in December last year following personal issues. “Doctor Who” show-runner Steven Moffat also stated at Doctor Who Convention that he has no time for another spin-off.
