While the Doctor Who star is set to begin shooting indie rom-com Not Another Happy Ending next week, Karen Gillan has also been confirmed as lead actress in supernatural drama Oculus, in which she will play an orphan who attempts to prove that her parents were not murdered by her long-convicted brother, but by a supernatural force.
The film will be helmed by Asbentia director Mike Flanagan, who co-wrote the script with Jeff Howard. The film is slated for release in 2014 and is being financed entirely by production company Intrepid Pictures. The film seems to be loosely based on a short Flanagan previously directed, called Oculus: Chapter 3 - The Man with the Plan.
