A release date of November 6th has been set in stone for Master Chief’s reawakening; just nine days shy of Halo’s eleventh anniversary (and a little over five years after gamers “finished the fight”), Halo 4 will be available at a retailer near you.

343 Industries, filling in for Bungie this go-around, made the announcement Wednesday and stirred up the Halo community once again. This announcement comes a month after the release of a first look into the development team’s hopes and ambitions.

With a new decade of Halo also comes a new generation of players to hook into the sci-fi epic, Microsoft UK’s Entertainment Director told MCV. The Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary pack released in 2011 was not only meant to pay homage to the Xbox’s gaming flagship – it would throw a new demographic into the Halo universe.

There’s sure to be plenty more buzz in the coming months, as fans warm their plasma pistols and reload their battle rifles for yet another fight.
