Valve Corporation, globally renowned developers of titles such as the incomparable Half-Life 2 and addictive puzzle shooter Portal, have today announced the launch of their new Zombie Photo Contest which ties into the release for its upcoming Xbox 360 and PC thriller Left 4 Dead.
“Working with Gibson Media to infect buses, train stations, highways and city streets in many major metropolitan areas in the US and UK has been a tremendous contribution to the game’s pre-launch momentum,” said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. “Pre-orders are now running 95% over those of The Orange Box, and we’re getting set to launch the pre-release demo and television campaign to further fuel this momentum.”
The contest challenges gamers to take photographs of themselves in front of one of many outdoor media placements in London, New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. They can enter the contest as many times as they like at www.l4d.com/contest.
Left 4 Dead is due for release on the Xbox 360 and PC on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe and the rest of the world. For more information, please visit www.steamgames.com.
