Majesco today announced The Hidden, an upcoming augmented reality game which sees players take the role of a paranormal investigator, hunting and destroying malicious spirits in real-world locations using the console’s stereoscopic camera. Players unravel the story of the game by travelling and exploring new locations in the real world and unlock new chapters and challenges.

“The Hidden is a great example of exciting content mixed with compelling technological innovation on the Nintendo 3DS,” said Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer at Majesco Entertainment. “This immersive experience leverages many key features of the new system - including the camera, gyroscope and Wi-Fi capability - to deliver a rich 3D adventure with multiple layers.”

The game is being developed by 1st Playable Productions, an independent development studio based in New York, and is expected to be released this October exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. You can find out more about the game at the publisher’s website here and the developer’s website here.
